New recommendation for shrub bed weed management

Agrochemical manufacturer Belchim Crop Protection and Rigby Taylor are delighted to confirm an important label extension for Chikara®. The product now has the addition of amenity vegetation (around) along with hard surfaces (railway ballast only), natural surfaces not intended to bear vegetation and permeable surfaces overlying soil.

Chikara® contains the active ingredient flazasulfuron, from Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha of Japan and is already established as a key product of choice for residual total weed control management in both the public and commercial sectors. The addition of amenity vegetation (around) to the label will enable grounds maintenance organisations to combine efficient delivery of low active ingredient with effective and long lasting residual weed control around amenity vegetation.

“The Industry has been crying out for an effective product for use in shrub beds. We have been working very closely with Belchim and are delighted that we are now able to offer a highly cost effective solution to help manage weed control in shrub beds. Chikara® will fill the void left by the regulatory loss of other residual products such as Casoron G (dichlobenil), Ronstar & Festival (oxadiazon) plus a number of others.” Says Peter Corbett Chemical Manager of Rigby Taylor.

When used correctly Chikara® either on its own or in tank mixture with other products will also deliver season long weed control across all porous surfaces found within the amenity industry. Such as gravel car parks, around street furniture, kerb edges etc.
Rigby Taylor also offer a full training and stewardship programme for operator on how to get the best from Chikara – which will also earn BASIS CPD points
