Industrial Weed Killer
Industrial weed killer is used on industrial sites to control and kill weeds. They are effective against many types of weeds and unwanted grasses and certain products can be used in aquatic situations.
Industrial weed killers often contain glyphosate as it is the most effective herbicide when it comes to controlling weeds in industrial situations.
Where Is Industrial Weed Killer Used?
Industrial weed killers may be used in a number of industrial situations, including around buildings, roads, walls, on pavements and in site preparation before landscaping.
An industrial weed killer may be used to control many weeds such as most broad-leaved and grass weeds, and others including heather, bramble and bracken.
For certain industrial weed killer products, care must be taken when applying near aquatic areas such as lakes, rivers and ponds. Conversely, some products are specifically designed to control waterside and floating weeds in aquatic areas. As with any aquatic herbicide though, approval should be sought from the appropriate authority before using.
Industrial weed killers should not be sprayed in windy weather.
Active Ingredients in Industrial Weed Killer
A common ingredient industrial weed killers is glyphosate. Glyphosate is a non-selective, systemic herbicide, effective on actively growing plants. It works by preventing weeds making proteins that are vital for the plant to grow. Because glyphosate circulates throughout the entire plant, down to the roots, the whole plant is killed and not just the leaves.
Rigby Taylor’s industrial weed killers use a highly advanced glyphosate formulation, which penetrates into the tissue of the weed and down to the roots extremely quickly. Therefore there is less chance of the weed killer being washed off by rain and it is usually rainfast within 30 minutes of application.
