Common Mouse Ear (Cerastium fontanum)
The common mouse-ear is found throughout the British Isles and flowers from April to September and seeds, which can number 6,500 per plant, are shed from June onwards. The perennial grows on a number of soils, but prefers nutrient rich, dry soils.
Common mouse-ear is capable of flowering within nine weeks of germination and as a consequence can take a hold in sites which are regularly disturbed.
Treatment
Use Crossbar or Greenor to control common mouse ear if hand removal is not possible.
