How does Algolite work?
Chloroplasts are the part of the plant cell that contain chlorophyll, which not only helps to give the green colour to tissue, but also has a vital function of enabling the plant to harness the energy from light that it needs to grow. Algolite contains quaternary biocides which kill the chloroplasts in living tissue, so the plant dies as it is unable to photosynthesise.
