Golf Qualifying Competition

The Rigby Taylor Qualifier Competition is due to take place next Thursday, 16 June.

Organised by BIGGA, at Neath Golf Club, in South Wales, the competition will establish which four teams go through to the final on Friday, 16 September.

Steve Chappell, Head Greenkeeper at Neath GC and Chairman of BIGGA South West and South Wales region, said: "This competition has given us, as BIGGA members in South Wales, the opportunity to meet, have an enjoyable afternoon, a chat, relax and compete in teams for the final in September. The incentive to play in the final is definitely something to look forward to.

"Having Rigby Taylor's commitment to the competition has been fantastic," Steve added.

Rigby Taylor representatives David Carvey, Peter Griffiths and Roy Barker have done a superb job encouraging BIGGA members from various golf courses around Wales to enter the tournament, which has this year seen a change of format.

Playing Greensomes, in teams of pairs, entrants will compete throughout the day to establish which four pairs go through to the final at Greenmeadow Golf & Country Club.

In the final, the teams will play semi-finals in the morning to establish who goes through to the grand final in the afternoon and a chance to win the Rigby Taylor Rosebowl.
